“We don’t need to look for happiness, but to discover happiness, because we’re the happiness ourselves.”
The five-day Yoga Diksha® Yoga Teachers' Training Foundation Course have successfully ended. With various refreshing experiences, the gratitude towards all the teachers, and all the positive energies charged, students went on in their own yoga journeys. This training program was just like a big feast of yoga. Students tasted the different flavors of yoga, and absorbed the nutrients of yoga wisdom to make them grow spiritually.
Of course, the appetizer of the feast is the morning sadhana. Swami Anubhavananda said, “a controlled mind is a disciplined and educated mind.” The morning sadhana is the beginning of self-discipline. When you struggled to get up early, to arrive to the classroom on time, and to start your practice on the mat, you should be proud of yourself, for you just stepped forward towards a disciplined life. At the same time, morning sadhana also prepared students with energies for a whole day of study. On each day, there was a different teacher leading the morning sadhana so that students can experience different teaching styles.
灵魂热汤 Nutritious Soup
对于每个学员来说，收获虽然各不相同，但有一点应该是一样的。那就是每个人都记住了那一句“I’m on the top of the world!” 没错，下次有人问你“How are you?”
To each student, what he/she has learned may be different, but one thing should be in common for all of them, i.e. everyone remembers the sentence “I’m on the top of the world!” That’s right, next time if someone ask you “how are you”, you could reply loudly with the exact sentence, smiling with a lot of confidence. This is the teaching of Swami Anubhavananda. The essence of yoga is not about how to twist your body in a wired way, but rather, it is about how to take care of your mind so that neither pain, anger, misery, nor complaint can stain your mind at any time. Don’t forget, “we come to this world for vacation, for celebration, and for delivering happiness!” And “we don’t need to look for happiness, but to discover happiness, because we’re the happiness ourselves.” With the simplest words, Swamiji elaborated the most profound yogic philosophy. His wise and humorous speech was just like a warm, soothing and nutritious bowl of soup to our souls.
主菜 Main Course
The main courses of the yoga feast are various theory and practice classes. In the whole training program, teacher Ganesh started with yoga history, and then went into the deeper meaning of asanas, then to the knowledge of prana, Ayurveda and yoga, yoga therapy, chakra meditation, etc. He revealed to us different sides of yoga from different angles. With his teaching, the students realized how profound the yoga philosophy is, they became respectful and grateful to the rishis who passed on yoga wisdom from generation to generation, and they also got interested in ancient Indian culture and its inseparable relation with yoga. His passionate teaching style left a deep impression on each student.
配菜 Side Dish
Yoga is a journey going inward. The deep relaxation, meditation and sound healing courses are the best chances for us to stay with ourselves, observe ourselves and understand ourselves. During deep relaxation or meditation, our potentials will be activated, and the suppressed emotions released. For those who experienced some dreadful and painful scenes of ancient time in the sound healing process, their fears and pains hidden in their subconsciousness would be cured when the experience was over. These courses are just like side dishes of the feast, adding some flavors to the main courses and bringing on more experiences to us.
The last but not the least part of this feast is the dessert, which is the “playful yoga” at the end of the training program. It was a lot of fun to each and every one of us! In the games, people would take off their masks, relax themselves and show their true nature of happiness. “Just Be present” and “be happy for no reason”, which are also some words from the Swamiji.
The yoga feast has been served. Hopefully, everyone enjoyed it and found his/her own definition and meaning of yoga. Maybe you experienced the harmonious feeling of uniting body and mind in asanas; maybe you just felt enlightened by some words of Swamiji; maybe you realized some subtle connections in things that you wouldn’t even know exist; maybe you discovered the seed of happiness deep inside……No matter what happened, yoga is still a long way to go, please keep exploring in this journey, with a lot of love and happiness!
